In 2013 she became one of the first people in the country to complete the new, Diploma in Small Animal Hydrotherapy.

Fiona worked for the University of Lincoln for 4 years during which time she helped to oversee the development of the Virtual Dog, a 3 dimensional learning resource covering aspects of canine anatomy, behaviour and health. She was also involved with the European Guide Dogs Mobility Standards project, which aimed to develop a more standardised training programme for Guide Dog Mobility Instructors across a number of European countries.
